Kentucky Derby Blackberry Mint Julep
A fun spin on the classic cocktail just in time for this years derby events!
The Mint Julep is an iconic cocktail for its popularity at the Kentucky Derby. This refreshing variation adds a little extra flavor with fresh blackberries. This drink can go beyond Derby Season and can be enjoyed all throughout the summer. I was pregnant with Beck last spring/summer so I will definitely be sippin’ on fun cocktails like this while the weather is warm and blackberries are in season.
Jared is also a bourbon drinker, so we have plenty of bourbon on hand to create bourbon based mixed drinks. Any bourbon you have will work for this recipe. And anytime I get to muddle ingredients is fun to me – especially in these julep cups that I literally only use once a year for the Kentucky Derby!
With the Kentucky Derby only a few days away, add these ingredients to your grocery list for a yummy, on theme cocktail.
