Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Makeover

April 25, 2023

The Cozy Coupe Makeover we did for Emerson when she was 16 months old (September 2021), was without a doubt the most fun DIY project we have ever done! She still plays with it at 3 years old more than she drives her ride on car.

It’s also one of our most popular posts across social platforms (including LTK)  so I thought I would finally put it all into a blog post and share again! And now that we have a new addition to our family, we are already brainstorming other ways to make it over for Beck when he is old enough to play with it.

We had so much fun with the details on Emerson’s Cozy Coupe. My favorite is the custom license plate!

Here is the full list of supplies needed for the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Makeover with product links:

  • Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Car
  • Custom Chrome
  • Rust-Oleum Spray Paint (colors of your choice)
  • Headlight and Taillight Stickers
  • Volkswagen Emblem + Super Glue
  • Spray Paint Handle (Optional)
  • Painters Tape

ALL PRODUCT LINKS HERE

The specific colors of Rust-Oleum we used:

  • Top: Heirloom White (Satin)
  • Body: Vintage Blush (Satin)

*Please note that we started with a white base and not one of the bright colored cars (ours was already white, but is no longer being sold). If you are using one with color, you will need to sand and prime prior to spray painting.

If car is already assembled, you can use painters tape to tape off parts while spray painting. If car is brand new, you can paint separate parts before assembling.

Get ready for endless hours of fun for your kiddos (and some really awesome pics in their new Cozy Coupe)!
