Jared and I recently celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary! With busy scheduled and two little ones at home, traveling or weekend trips can sometimes be hard to plan + traveling can be draining when parenthood has already sucked every ounce of energy you may have. To celebrate, we decided on a staycation in Atlanta. Since we only live 30-40 minutes north of the city, it was a getaway without all the travel time.
Shortly after we got married, we became fascinated with boutique hotels. Even if they cost a bit more, the experience is worth every penny. One of our favorites is The Dwell Hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We love the retro vibe, themed rooms, antique furniture, curated common spaces, service and overall feel, so we wanted to find a similar place in Atlanta. Hotel Clermont delivered!
Hotel Clermont exceeded our expectations and we are already planning our next staycation there. In fact, we plan to make it an anniversary tradition!
The hotel as built in 1924, but more recently restored from a motor inn to a boutique hotel with all of its rich history intact. It sits on the Atlanta Beltline and is a few minute walk from Ponce City Market. They host themed events, have won countless awards and it definitely a hidden gem in Atlanta.
Every detail, big and small was spectacular and on theme.
The food was hands down the best food we have ever had (and I don’t say that lightly).
The drinks were delicious and unique.
The service was fantastic.
The location is walking distance to Ponce City Market.
The view of Atlanta from the rooftop bar was incredible at sunset.
The room we stayed in was massive, beautifully decorated and so cozy.
I could go on and on about this place, but instead, I will show you in photos (which don’t do this place justice, so you will just have to visit yourself).
Let’s start with the common areas:
Pictured below are the lobby, sitting areas, downstair bar, and café.
Next we have the food & drinks. There’s a reason Tiny Lou’s (the restaurant downstairs) is Michelin recommended. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it is the best food Jared and I have both had. We had the opportunity to speak with the chef and his passion for cooking really shined through his voice which made the food that much better.
At the bar we ordered appetizers to snack on, then opted to eat at the downstairs bar as soon as we could order food since we were starving. I was craving a burger so I had that and truffle fries. Jared ordered the duck confit and said it was fantastic.
They also have a taco truck on the roof. Unfortunately, it was closed for an event and we were unable to try it.
Late that night, we ordered more truffle fries + dessert in bed, because why not?!
For brunch, we ate in the restaurant at Tiny Lou’s. It’s decorated in pink and has a 1950’s French-American feel. We didn’t think the food could get any better, but somehow, brunch sent our taste buds on a trip!
After we ordered coffee, we shared the tartine flambe. This dish alone was one of the greatest plates of food we have ever had! I had the quiche (which was so delicious and authentic) and Jared went with his usual eggs benedict. We also shared a side of the breakfast potatoes which I give a 10/10!
Our Room – The Ruby Suite
From the clawfoot tub to the art deco coffee bar. Every little detail was beautifully curated to perfection.
The Rooftop
Hotel Clermont’s most popular spot for hotel guests and locals is the rooftop bar. With city views, yummy drinks and fun music, it was the perfect place to watch the sun set over the city.
Other Details I Loved
We cannot wait for our next trip and hope this has inspired you for your next visit or staycation in Atlanta!
