5 Back To School Lunch Ideas Kids Will Love

The first week back to school always comes with a mix of excitement, nerves, and the daily question every parent knows so well:
“What’s for lunch?”
One of my favorite ways to make school lunches extra special is by giving them a fun theme. If you know me, you know I love a good theme and just about everything I do in life has some sort of theme – lunches for the kids are no exception. It doesn’t have to be complicated – even simple sandwich/cookie cutters, colorful fruits, and a favorite character can turn an ordinary lunch into something kids can’t wait to open!
To make each lunch even more exciting, I love pairing them with a matching good2grow juice. This one turns lunchtime into a game! Choose one letter of the alphabet and pack foods that all begin with that letter.

Tips for Creating Fun Lunch Themes
You don’t need fancy supplies or hours of prep to make themed lunches memorable. A few simple tricks go a long way:
- Keep a few cookie cutters and/or sandwich cutters on hand for shaping sandwiches, produce and cheese.
- Use colorful fruits and vegetables to match your theme.
- Reuse bento-style containers to separate foods and keep everything organized.
- Let your child help choose the character for their good2grow juice each week.
- Look for character packaging and snacks at the grocery store (ex. Character shaped crackers).
- Seal it with a character quote on a sticky note to match the theme.
