Pretzels, Beer & Brats, oh my!
Raise your steins to Oktoberfest 2025! As a holday and occasions creator, I have been wanting to lean into Oktoberfest for a while. Maybe it’s my Eastern European heritage or just another reason to have a party.. either way, I love the traditions that have been evolved from it’s original celebration in the early 1800’s.

I grew up in a sausage and sauerkraut household with it being one of my dad’s favorites (again with the Eastern European background). I personally do not care for it (mostly the smell), but it is a German staple that makes a great addition to any Oktoberfest spread. This year, we did Brats, Sauerkraut, Parsley Potatoes, Bavarian Pretzels and a few other appetizers. Of course I snagged a few of my dad’s steins for the decor. Those things have a lot of stories to tell! The Stube one is from an old dive bar at Ohio State and the others we believe are from my grandfather when he was either stationed in Germany or visiting Germany another time. I love how beautiful and authentic they are!

Behind the German steins, my favorite detail in the set up is the wheat stems in the steins to give a nod to the flowing beer of Oktoberfest.

These incredible Bavarian pretzels, bites and cinnamon sugar pretzels came from The Pretzel Company. They have been so fun to work with and the pretzels truly are top tier! You can use my code: KERI15 to save on your order.

So how did I do for my first Oktoberfest display? Should I break out the Bavarian dress and Lederhosen next year?
Prost!
