Hi my name is Keri and I don’t know how to half-a$$ a theme, hehe. It’s just what I do and who I am!
I just started planning Beckham’s 2nd birthday party for September and just realized I never shared his 1st birthday party. The same thing happened to me with Emerson’s 3rd birthday party, but better late that never!
I’ll try to lay out the party details the same way I did Emerson’s Dancing Queen Disco Party for those looking for Rock & Roll Party inspiration for their next celebration.
Why We Picked This Theme
We picked this theme because I personally have not seen it done a lot for a kid birthday party, so the less common, the more I like it. We are also big music fans, with Jared and I both being raised on classic rock by our dads. Our kids love music as well and it all just fell into place.
If you are new here, you may not know that I had a difficult pregnancy with Beckham which had many complications. Ultimately, I had an emergency c-section following my third hemorrhage. Beckham was born at 32 weeks and spent 40 days in the NICU. He was an absolute ROCKSTAR during and since his NICU stay, so we wanted to celebrate him in rockstar style!
The Party Details
As a DIYer and detail oriented girlie, I had a lot of fun planning out each little detail to go along with this theme. My favorites include punny food names that correspond to band names and famous rock songs, the merch table and more. I will also link the materials and products that I am able to below.
The Birthday Boy
The red velvet birthday cake and icing unintentionally turned into an Ozzy Osbourne moment, hehe. IYKYK!
Band Tees
Our guests really delivered on the theme by dressing the part. Everyone came in their band tees ready to rock!
